Ed Jones

Ed Jones is a UK jazz saxophonist/composer/band leader who has been based in London for over 20 years. His unique strong tenor sound and style has received a plenty of acclaim across the world. Ed Jones works in the UK and internationally with a wide range of his own projects and collaborations. He is at home in a wide range of styles and genres.

Ed has long standing connections to jazz crossover projects such as US3 (1992-) and Incognito (1995-) both with whom he has been a regular band member. In Scandinavia he has been collaborating since 1997 with Finnish trumpeter/composer Mika Mylläri on a number of projects and they have also released an album “7 Moments” together.

Ed has made musical connections in many countries, particularly in Japan where he tours regularly. He has been working actively also as a sideman in several projects – as well as a session musician. He has also composed for Film/TV writing the score for the award winning series ”Writers on the border” Infas tv/Channel 4 (Best documentary film Montreal Film festival 1991).
